Sound THERAPY
whAT IS SOUND THERAPY?
Sound Therapy or as some people reference it as Sound Healing, is an ancient meditative practice that uses different musical implements to create healing vibrations around the body in a meditative state. Singing Bowl Therapists, for example, use Quartz crystal bowls and Gongs tuned at strategic frequencies for healing different parts of the body and mind.
Some of the most common benefits of sound therapy:
Triggers the relaxation response
Reduces blood pressure
Alleviates symptoms of chronic stress
Releases and harmonizes the mind, body and spirit
When emotions such as grief, sadness, and anger are held within the vessel for long periods of time, it can cause dis-ease. This dis-ease morphs into different types of illnesses. It has scientifically been proven that our thoughts and feelings produce energy, which trigger vibrations. Everything vibrates at a different level, including feelings. These vibrations reverberate into frequencies. Emotions that we consider uncomfortable, or unpleasant, vibrate at relatively low levels, thus your energetic field may emanate a lower frequency. We can view vibrations as voltage, electric and charged. Emotions that most people find pleasant and joyful are vibrating and oscillating at higher frequencies. It is felt by all those around them. It is why when someone smiles at you warmly, the other person feels the energy and smiles in return. Energy is an exchange.
Human bodies are made of over 70% water. This means we are great conductors for vibrations and frequencies. We are Sound Beings. Sound holds powerful influence and because we are made up of water, we can attune the frequency of our inner waters to sound. When one experiences sound healing, it can provide a positive energetic release, providing emotional clarity and nervous system recalibration.
